Eco Shavings was incorporated on the 22 April 2008 under the name Hill View Trading 28 (Pty) Ltd. On 24 November 2008 the company changed its name to Hill View Shavings (Pty) Ltd. On the 21 July 2010 the entirety was converted into a Close Corporation under the name Hill View Shavings CC and then in 2019 the Corporation was converted back into a Proprietary Limited company under the name Hill View Shavings (Pty) Ltd. In 2021 the (Pty) Ltd changed its name to Eco Shavings (Pty) Ltd

Eco Shavings was established in 2008 with very humble beginnings. Annual sales that year were only slightly over R200,000. Every year since then, other than 2020 Global Covid Pandemic, the company has experienced strong organic growth.

Currently only shavings collected as a waste product from wood mills are bagged and sold, either in compressed or uncompressed bags. The company sells approximately 100,000 bags per month.
